A Bit of Our History
Buffalo Lake
On September 1st, 1893, the Bank of Buffalo Lake was started by the O’Connor Brothers and F.G. Nellermoe.
On January 18, 1901, the bank was incorporated into the State Bank of Buffalo Lake.
The State Bank of Buffalo Lake leased the first floor of the building commonly known as Peterson’s store.
On July 25th, 1955, the bank conducted regular business at its new building located to the west of the old location.
On October 17, 1981, the State Bank of Buffalo Lake’s grand opening of the current bank facility was held.
In 1975, the VonHoltum family purchased the bank and are still the current owners. The State Bank of Buffalo Lake merged with Tri-County State Bank in Ortonville in 1994 to become CenBank.
Hutchinson
Our Hutchinson location opened on Montreal St. SE in November of 2017.
We are looking forward to being an active part of the Hutchinson community and building long term, successful relationships with customers the same as we have in Buffalo Lake and Ortonville since 1893!
Ortonville
Tri-County State Bank in Ortonville first opened for business in 1955 and was located in Ortonville's Mainstreet where the Krueger License Bureau building is now located. The bank began when a group of businessmen decided to form their own bank.
In 1974 the bank moved to a new building which was construction at 113 NW 1st Street, and is where the bank presently stands.
In 1997 the bank underwent a major remodeling project which included removing a water fountain from the lobby.
